Idle Words

Sometimes I say too much

Sometimes I think out loud

Sometimes I reveal what's hidden

Sometimes I shout out loud

Someday idle words will be judged

Someday all thoughts will be revealed

Someday God will show what we've hidden

Someday...

We will stand and give an account one day: just one at a time

He will show all our motives
He will show what we've denied

It will reveal our sins sickness, all that we hide in our pride

9 A human heart is more dishonest than anything else.
      It can't be healed.
Who can understand it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NIRV

Who can fix this plight? Who can fix this doom?

Jesus, became our sorrow, and took away all this gloom

So to Him be all the glory, and to Him be all the praise!

Here's to life and Resurrection!  I'll thank Him all my days!

What's Coming

When all is done, it will come to pass
Past will be past
A new and glorious future lies ahead
What's ahead is unknown, but it's for-known
It rests in the mind of God, held for all who believe
We will finally be in a Kingdom:
ruled fully wise and above all human reason

Perhaps, I'm past my prime for sound thought or anything wise
Perhaps, I'm a fool or simply a used up tool
But, I know His day is coming and I will behold His coming

“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn." Zechariah 12:10 NIV

Plea

Father, it's been a tough few days. Pain pushes in, in it, I become an introvert. I pray Your Spirit lends a hand. I've wore out my family and friends with words. My mind simply jumbles and makes little sense to me. LORD, help me through it and let me get some sleep.

Jesus, I have friends, some of which are looking for work. Be their provision and help them find what they need, I know You can't fail. Others need healing Father, only You can make them well. Give me faith as a child. Help me remember You are still at work.

My Jesus, my God, hold me tight. Make me fight the good fight. Help me push for a prize greater than what's in sight. Take my friend's cancer, and please forgive my sins fresh today.

For You are the great God all glorious, holding us in Your Hand. You are my healer and my hope, and I'll praise You through this and into eternity.
Thanks Jesus, amen.

Why I'm Thankful

A wife that's faithful
A son that's teachable
A daughter that's cheerful
A dog that's likable

I'm blessed beyond measure, on this I'll brag. I'm just grateful for all that I've had: With two loving parents, I was born in America, a land that's not all that bad. I've had freedom of worship. It's taken for granted, yet, it's a gift that not all have had. I've had friends who last and forgive, even when I've been quite mad.

These are gifts from my Maker, yet not all I've had.

I look back through times tower and see Jesus' love for me
I see shed blood,  just once for me
I see an empty cross, Jesus died there and laid in a grave
But, He didn't stay there...
I see my sin forgiven.
It's placed on Jesus--that I might live and be free

So for these I'm thankful and give God glory; for one day will I see Him and be at once forever healed and in His presence.

" And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.  ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Rev 21:3-4 NIV

New Mercy

Turn on Your spotlight Father.

There is dust in the corners of my life.

Left over crumbs from a hypocritical life need swept up.

All looks well in the dark, lit up, I'm still left wanting.

Clean me out deeper than imaginable, wash me with Your word.

How I praise the God of new beginnings! He makes it so.

Day by day, His mercies are new.

He holds the tempter at bay! And, by resistance he flees.

Jesus gives me the strength, I give him the glory!

Meeting God

A top a lonely hill, but not alone

It's a mystery how away from anyone and everyone, how God can meet us there.

David asked, "Where can I go from Your Spirit?"

In heaven or hell,

In light or dark,

In an ocean or on a mountain, You are there O God.

We are never away from the omnipresence of  the living God.

When we speak, He hears. Before the words are on our lips, He knows them.

If we listen, He is still speaking. If we open our bible, we find out what He is saying.

What if?

What if life's greatest purpose is never fulfilled?

What if we never acknowledge our Creator?

What if we never knew God loved us enough to send His Son?

What if we didn't believe Jesus died to forgive sin?

What if we forgot to tell our neighbors our purpose for being?

What if we knew impending danger loomed on the horizon?

Would there blood be on our hands?

Tell others, there is still hope in Jesus.

Ears That Hear

Lost in despondency, our eyes close

Looking, we don't see

Listening, we don't hear

Reasoning,

Wrestling, striving
We in our perceiving, miss perception

Father stir our hearts:

Give us eyes that see
Give us ears that hear, Your heartbeat

The Lamb

The Lamb

I am the Lamb, prone to wander
Often I wallow and squander
I picked up the pearl, but sat it down. I even kicked it around

Leaving the fold You didn't even scold. Picking me up, it's a story retold

You left the faithful, to find me
You left the good, to be with me
You lift me, even break me

Now, You remake me
Your pulse so close

Your heart so near
Your voice so dear

"“See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?  And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.

Matthew 18:10-14

Reflection: Psalm 81

Reflection Psalm 81

At our Majesties command a celebration ensues. Songs of deliverance fill the air. Songs are sang, and praise in all forms bring delight in His presence.

Yet, there's a problem; pretension exist among the saints. He would fill us with His voice, but we wont have it.

We just pretend, heaping upon ourselves judgment.
O that we would listen; O that I would listen.

Then our enemies would continue to fall.

But haters of God still pretend to love Him. Though a reckoning day will come.

Matthew 7:22-23
New International Version (NIV)
22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Their fate, sealed forever:
Jesus tells us hypocrites are assigned a place with unbelievers and their fate is worse.

Yet, He wills to fill us with the best. So, why do we settle for less?

Burn out any hypocrisy in me Father. Jesus, satisfy me with the sweet honey and wine of Your Spirit. May I never settle for less. And, may I go into Your presence forever; though the blood of  Jesus.

Brilliance in Light

*

The brilliance of Your love shines down from above
The brilliance of Your light shines so bright
The brilliance of the night, in little shining lights

With all the stars above, You express Your love

Even in the night we see You are bright
Even in our plight You show You're might
Even when nothing seems right, You shine, You're light

Jesus, be with me tonight showing mercy and might

Be my strength
Be my fight
Be here tonight, as You shine in the night

Wild Oats and Rotten Lemons

Situational desperation causing my mind to wonder and wander,
My ineptitude makes me destitute.

I sowed my wild oats and in return all I got was rotten lemons.
Not fit for lemonade, not even Gatorade.
My ship had run aground;
Cold, broken, and smashed all around

There's only one way out, I had to cry out;
Only one who can heal,
Only one can make me feel.

Wild oats and rotten lemons;
They grew, they smelled
But, once cut down, the wound began to heal
From deep within, Jesus you’ve cleansed my sin.
