Reflection
Psalm 81
At
our Majesties command a celebration ensues. Songs of deliverance fill
the air. Songs are sang, and praise in all forms bring delight in His
presence.
Yet,
there's a problem; pretension exist among the saints. He would fill
us with His voice, but we wont have it.
We
just pretend, heaping upon ourselves judgment.
O
that we would listen; O that I would listen.
Then
our enemies would continue to fall.
But
haters of God still pretend to love Him. Though a reckoning day will come.
Matthew
7:22-23
New
International Version (NIV)
22 Many
will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in
your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform
many miracles?’ 23Then
I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you
evildoers!’
Their
fate, sealed forever:
Jesus
tells us hypocrites are assigned a place with unbelievers and their
fate is worse.
Yet, He
wills to fill us with the best. So, why do we settle for less?
Burn
out any hypocrisy in me Father. Jesus, satisfy me with the sweet
honey and wine of Your Spirit. May I never settle for less. And, may I go
into Your presence forever; though the blood of Jesus.
Great prayer Gordon, even if it isn't. Why do we settle for less?! It's a question that hope we get answered in heaven but I think the generations will always be asking that one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Peter! I don't know why we settle for less, we just do. Adam settled for less than perfection in God's garden and we still do the same. In Christ we move back to Eden, or at least have the key with an all access pass. Yet, we having access into the Holy of Holies, just want to hang out in the lobby.
